1. I read you cheered in high school back
in Utah. What team(s) did you cheer for?
**I did all-star cheer for one year, competitively that is,
for a team called Utah Elite Cheer Academy.
2. Did you play any other sports in high school? If so, which ones?
**I was a gymnast in high school as
well for a club team, which took up a lot of my time. I worked out 30 hours per week. I also did softball recreationally for
a few years.
3. What is the biggest myth about cheerleaders?
**The biggest myth about cheerleaders is that they are not real athletes. Now the high school cheerleaders,
they are questionable, but competitive cheerleaders are most definitely athletes.
4. A couple of years ago
Nebraska had a ban, that cheerleaders weren't allowed to leave their feet. That ban has since been lifted. What are your thoughts
about a ban like that?
**I disagree
with a ban like that because we as cheerleaders know what we are doing when we toss each other up in the air. If a girl falls
on a stunt, her bases will more than likely catch her in any way they can. Although it is safer to have a ban that cheerleaders
weren't allowed to leave their feet, that would be a totally different sport. Cheerleaders take the risk when they become
cheerleaders.
5. I read that you currently attend University of Denver, how did you choose to go there?
**I do attend the University of Denver, and I chose
this school because I wanted to get out of Utah and Denver was still close home but still far enough away. I also love the
campus and all the people and it is nice to be close to the city.
6. Are you currently cheering for DU? If
not, any reason why?
**I am
not currently cheering for DU. The cheer team here is not competitive at all and that's what I was looking for in a cheer
team.
7. I read that you are a rock, paper, scissorist. Were you kidding? If not, explain!
**I was definitely kidding!
8. What other
hobbies do you have?
**Other
hobbies I have are coaching gymnastics, sewing, playing intramural softball, being in the pep band, and occasionally skiing.
9. Since were a sports website, I gotta ask. Do you watch any sports? If so, which ones? Any favorite teams?
**I sometimes watch softball
and baseball on television. However, I don't have any favorite teams. I watched the Broncos this year and kind of became hooked,
and I also watch competitive cheerleading on television when its on.
10. Fun question. What is one thing in
the world you would change and why?
**One thing I would change in the world is justice for everyone.
One of my interests is seeking justice for girls who have been sexually exploitated and I would like to see justice for them
and everyone who is forced to be in a brothel or forced to be exploitated.
